From 18-20 March 2019, Solar Water Plc took part in a Renewable Energy Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia.
Our CEO, David Reavley, supported by the British Embassy and the Department for International Trade, presented the Solar WaterTM solution during a business roundtable at the Council of Saudi Chambers, as well as at a networking reception at the British Embassy attended by key business and governmental stakeholders.
The trade mission was a particularly exciting opportunity because the development of renewables and improving energy efficiency is a key part of the Saudi government’s ‘Vision 2030’ reform agenda. Saudi Arabia aims to become a world leader in solar technology, and plans to generate 59 gigawatts of electricity from solar and wind by 2030.
This is a large, diverse and developing market with multibillion-dollar investment programmes planned and in progress. There are tenders for at least 12 new renewable energy projects expected this year, so it is extremely encouraging that Solar Water Plc was able to showcase their solution at this important event.
